LANDMARK ON MAIN STREET IS A NOT-FOR-PROFIT COMMUNITY CENTER THAT ENHANCES THE SPIRIT AND ENRICHES THE LIVES OF THE COMMUNITIES OF PORT WASHINGTON AND SURROUNDING REGIONS.

TO PROVIDE AFFORDABLE, HIGH QUALITY CHILD CARE AND AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS FOR WORKING FAMILIES IN PORT WASHINGTON WITHOUT REGARD TO RACE, RELIGION, NATIONAL ORIGIN, OR ECONOMIC STATUS.

Private foundations are considered family foundations if relatives or the original donor are still active on the board of trustees or in the operation of the foundation.

[Many of these are found in section 501(c)(6) business leagues; and 501(c)(6) chambers of commerce.]

PROVIDE RELIEF & ASSISTANCE TO DISABLED AND OR INJURED VOLUNTEER FIRE PERSONNEL AND THEIR FAMILIES.

THE ORGANIZATION AIMS TO SUPPORT THE CARE AND TREATMENT OF INDIVIDUALS DIAGNOSED WITH FOXG1 SYNDROME AND SIMILAR DISORDERS, AS WELL AS RAISING PUBLIC AWARENESS REGARDING SUCH ISSUES, AND TO SUPPORT RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OF LEARNINGS AND METHODS TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR PATIENTS WITH SUCH DISORDERS. THE ORGANIZATION INTENDS TO GRANT FUNDS TO INDIVIDUALS AND ORGANIZATIONS SEEKING, THROUGH RESEARCH, DEVELOPMENT AND TREATMENT, TO SUPPORT PATIENTS WITH FOXG1 SYNDROME AND SIMILAR DISORDERS.

TO PROVIDE VOLUNTEER AMBULANCE SERVICE TO THE RESIDENTS OF PORT WASHINGTON COMMUNITY

MISSION:

THE PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE COMMUNITY CHEST IS TO RAISE FUNDS TO BE DISBURSED AS GRANTS TO OTHER CAREFULLY SCREENED NOT FOR PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS THAT PROVIDE A WIDE RANGE OF SERVICES TO THE RESIDENTS OF PORT WASHINGTON. THE COMMUNITY CHEST ALSO RENTS SPACE WITHIN ITS FACILITY AT BELOW MARKET RATES TO NON PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS,HELPING THEM FULFILL THEIR MISSIONS. IN MARCH 2020, THE COMMUNITY CHEST INITIATED AND ADMINISTERED THE PORT WASHINGTON COVID-19 COMMUNITY RESPONSE FUND TO MAKE COVID-19 EMERGENCY GRANTS FOR FOOD NEEDS, HOUSING COSTS AND OTHER EXPENSES TO EXISTING COMMUNITY AND FAITH-BASED ORGANIZATIONS THAT HAVE STRONG EXPERIENCE SUPPORTING PORT WASHINGTON RESIDENTS.

OUR VISION IS TO PROVIDE FULL AND SUSTAINABLE FUNDING TO MAKE POSSIBLE THE VISION OF THE LIBRARY FOR THE BENEFIT IF THE ENTIRE PORT WASHINGTON COMMUNITY.
