IN ADDITION TO HOSTING ROUGHLY 17 MILLION VISITS ANNUALLY, THE PARK OFFERS A MULTITUDE OF FREE PUBLIC PROGRAMS FOR FITNESS, SPORTS AND RECREATION, CULTURAL EVENTS LIKE FILM, LIVE MUSIC, DANCE, AND FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT, AS WELL AS ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION AND MARINE SCIENCE, HISTORY AND NATURE TOURS, AND COMMUNITY-BASED SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVES. HUDSON RIVER PARK IS FINANCIALLY SELF-SUSTAINING, RELYING ON PRIVATE FUNDING FOR ITS ANNUAL OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE. FRIENDS OF HUDSON RIVER PARK RAISES FUNDS TO SUPPORT THE PUBLIC EVENTS, LANDSCAPES AND GARDENS, PLAYGROUNDS AND FAMILY ACTIVITIES, ENVIRONMENT AND EDUCATION
