TO PROVIDE A PLATFORM TO DISPLAY THE UNITY OF THE BODY OF CHRIST THROUGH THE MEETING OF PRACTICAL NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITY. EACH WEEK, OVER 600 HONORED GUESTS ARE SERVICED BY THE PROVISION OF FOOD, CLOTHING, HOUSEHOLD ITEMS, FURNITURE, AND CARE DONATED BY BUSINESSES, OTHER GROUPS AND INDIVIDUAL DONORS. THERE IS NO COST FOR OUR HONORED GUESTS FOR ANY OF THESE ITEMS OR SERVICES. THE GOOD NEWS OF THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST IS ALWAYS FREELY GIVEN IN BOTH ENGLISH AND SPANISH DURING THE INTIAL WELCOME OF HONORED GUESTS. EVERY VOLUNTEER STRIVES TO EXTEND THE LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST THROUGHOUT THE VISIT OF EACH AND EVERY HONORED GUEST THAT WE SERVE (AND EACH PERSON WHO ENTERS OUR FACILITY IS SEEN AS AN HONORED GUEST)

CLIMATE CHANGEMAKERS PREPARED DOZENS OF ONLINE RESOURCES AND HOSTED WEEKLY EVENTS ON ZOOM WHERE VOLUNTEER PARTICIPANTS LEARNED BEST PRACTICES IN CIVIC ENGAGEMENT AND ADVOCATED TO THEIR REPRESENTATIVES IN THE US CONGRESS AND OTHER KEY STAKEHOLDERS IN SUPPORT OF POLICIES AND LEADERSHIP TO ADDRESS CLIMATE CHANGE.

The goal of this organization is to conduct research which can be used to improve the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases and conditions that affect the head and neck including the ears, the respiratory and upper alimentary systems, the face, the jaws and related structures. The related medical specialty is otolaryngology.

NEXTSTEP RALEIGH IS AN AFFORDABLE, STATE-OF-THE-ART, COMMUNITY-BASED PARALYSIS RECOVERY AND FITNESS CENTER, OFFERING AN IMPROVED CHANCE FOR RECOVERY, INDEPENDENCE AND HEALTH THROUGH STANDARDIZED ACTIVITY-BASED THERAPY PROGRAMS AND RESEARCH-BASED INTERVENTIONS.

THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE CORPORATION SHALL BE OPEN TO ALL PERSONS WHO ARE INTERESTED IN WAKEMED AND ITS CHARITABLE, EDUCATIONAL AND SCIENTIFIC PROGRAMS, AND WHO ARE WILLING TO ASSIST WAKEMED IN FURTHERANCE OF SUCH PROGRAMS.

RALEIGH CITY FARM CONTINUED THE REFINED STEWARDSHIP OF OUR ONE-ACRE SITE WITH AN EXPANDED FARM TEAM INCLUDING A FARM MANAGER, ASSISTANT FARM MANAGER AND CORE TEAM OF PAID INTERNS AND VOLUNTEERS. WE ENGAGED COMMUNITY MEMBERS IN VOLUNTEER WORK SESSIONS, TOURS, WORKSHOPS, EVENTS AND OUTREACH ACTIVITIES. WE LOGGED OVER 5,900 HOURS OF VOLUNTEER SERVICE; HARVESTED OVER 13,000 LBS OF PRODUCE AND MADE 90% OF THE YIELD AFFORDABLE AND ACCESSIBLE TO THE COMMUNITY THROUGH OUR FARMSHARE AND PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN FARMSTAND PROGRAM. OUR 2023-2025 STRATEGIC PLAN WAS UPDATED WITH CLARITY ON LEASE TERMS THROUGH 2029 AND PLANS FOR EXPANSION TO INCREASE THE IMPACT OF OUR MISSION.

MISSION:

WE PROVIDE ACADEMIC ASSISTANCE AND SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL SKILLS FOR UNDER-RESOURCED YOUTH IN COLLABORATION WITH SCHOOLS, FAMILIES, AND OTHER COMMUNITY AGENCIES. WE STRIVE TO BUILD RESILIENCE TO ADVERSE CHILDHOOD EXPERIENCES (ACES) AND PREPARE YOUTH FOR LIFE OPPORTUNITIES. WE WORK CLOSELY WITH THE FAMILIES OF OUR YOUTH WHO FREQUENTLY STRUGGLE WITH HUNGER, UNSTABLE HOUSING, POOR TRANSPORTATION, AND LW-WAGE EMPLOYMENT TO PARTNER WITH OTHER AGENCIES IN THE COMMUNITY. WE ALSO WORK TO PROVIDE ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES FOR OUR YOUTH TO ALLOW THEM TO HAVE FUN AND BUILD SELF-ESTEEM.
