The goal of this organization are the residential options exclusively for older adults who want to have a simpler, maintenance-free lifestyle and enjoy the company of peers with common interests, or who require a moderate amount of support in the activities of daily living to maintain independent living.

Because of their endowments, they are focused primarily on grantmaking and generally do not actively raise funds or seek public financial support. These are the most common type of private foundation. They are generally endowed, usually from a single individual or family. Private foundations are considered family foundations if relatives or the original donor are still active on the board of trustees or in the operation of the foundation.

MISSION:

THE ORGANIZATION DISTRIBUTES FUNDS TO MEMBER SPORTS TEAMS THAT IS USED FOR PLAYER DEVELOPMENT, TEAM BUILDING, RECOGNITION PROGRAMS, SPECIAL EVENTS, EQUIPMENT PURCHASES, UNIFORMS, TRAVEL, GENERAL SUPPLIES, AND OTHER EXPENSES. THE PURPOSE OF THE FUNDING IS TO ASSIST IN REDUCING THE BLOOMINGTON SCHOOL DISTRICT'S BURDEN FOR FUNDING ATHLETIC TEAMS AND ALLOW FOR GREATER PARTICIPATION FROM THE STUDENT BODY.

THE ORGANIZATION IS FOCUSED ON SUPPORTING THE STUDENTS AND FAMILIES AT FARNSWORTH AEROSPACE MAGNET PREK-8TH. IT DOES THIS BY PROVIDING FIELD TRIP SCHOLARSHIPS FOR STUDENTS AT ALL GRADES, BRINGING OUTSIDE TALENT INTO SCHOOLS TO ENRICH THE EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE OF ALL STUDENTS, AND HELPS ESTABLISH PARTNERSHIPS WITH LOCAL ENTITIES TO DEVELOP RELATIONSHIPS THAT STUDENTS CAN LEVERAGE.

THE ULTIMATE GOAL OF SOWASHCO CARES IS TO BUILD A COMMUNITY THAT CARES. WE DO THIS BY MEETING THE NEEDS OF OUR STUDENTS, PROVIDING ACCESS TO OPPORTUNITIES, SHOWING APPRECIATION TO OUR SCHOOL STAFF, AND HOSTING COMMUNITY-BUILDING EVENTS FOR PEOPLE TO CONNECT, GIVE HELP AND GET HELP.
