The goal of this organization are the nongovernmental, nonprofit organizations with funds (usually from a single source, such as an individual, family or corporation) and programs managed by its own trustees or directors, established to maintain or aid social, educational, religious or other charitable activities serving the common welfare, primarily through grantmaking.

MISSION:

The goal of this organization are the private foundations that make grants based on charitable endowments. Because of their endowments, they are focused primarily on grantmaking and generally do not actively raise funds or seek public financial support. These are the most common type of private foundation. They are generally endowed, usually from a single individual or family. THE SOCIETY FOR HUMANISTIC JUDAISM MOBILIZES PEOPLE TO CELEBRATE JEWISH IDENTITY AND CULTURE CONSISTENT WITH A HUMANISTIC PHILOSOPHY OF LIFE INDEPENDENT OF A SUPERNATURAL AUTHORITY. AS THE CENTRAL BODY FOR THE HUMANISTIC JEWISH MOVEMENT IN NORTH AMERICA, THE SOCIETY ASSISTS IN ORGANIZING AND SUPPORTING CONGREGATIONS AND IN PROVIDING A WORLDWIDE VOICE FOR ITS MEMBERS.

MISSION:

THE ROCKFORD EDUCATION FOUNDATION (REF) WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1991 TO PROVIDE RESOURCES FOR INCREASED EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE OF ALL AGES IN THE ROCKFORD COMMUNITY. THE REF IS AN INDEPENDENT, NON-PROFIT CORPORATION, GOVERNED BY A VOLUNTEER BOARD OF TRUSTEES FROM THE COMMUNITY. TEACHERS, STUDENTS, AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS WITH INNOVATIVE IDEAS HAVE RECEIVED GRANTS FOR WIDE-RANGING, EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES. LARGE & MINI GRANTS ARE AWARDED TWICE ANNUALLY BASED ON THE MERIT OF THE REQUEST AND ITS ABILITY TO PROMOTE EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE. COMMUNITY IMPACT GRANTS ARE REVIEWED AT TIME OF SUBMISSION AND DETERMINED CASE BY CASE, WHEREAS STUDENT GRANTS CAN BE REVIEWED AND APPROVED DURING THE MONTHLY BOARD MEETINGS. THE REF IS PROUD TO AWARD EDUCATIONAL GRANTS TO THE ROCKFORD COMMUNITY.

DETROIT LIONS CHARITIES (THE "CHARITIES") IS THE NONPROFIT COMMUNITY FUNDING EXTENSION OF DETROIT LIONS, INC. THE CHARITIES INVEST IN STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS TO EMPOWER YOUTH FOR LASTING, TRANSFORMATIVE CHANGE IN OUR HOMETOWN OF DETROIT.
