HILLSDALE COLLEGE IS A PRIVATE LIBERAL ARTS COLLEGE WITH APPROXIMATELY 1,500 STUDENTS. The goal of this organization are the nongovernmental, nonprofit organizations with funds (usually from a single source, such as an individual, family or corporation) and programs managed by its own trustees or directors, established to maintain or aid social, educational, religious or other charitable activities serving the common welfare, primarily through grantmaking.

MISSION:

The goal of this organization is to operate outpatient facilities, many previously known as free clinics, established by the community rather than a hospital which provide basic medical care including physical examinations, immunizations, family planning, nutrition assistance and diagnosis and treatment of common ailments. Services are available on an ability-to-pay basis and target low-income and indigent community residents.

The goal of this organization is to make grants for charitable purposes in a specific community or region. The funds available to a community foundation are usually derived from many donors and held in an endowment that is independently administered; income earned by the endowment is then used to make grants.

MICHINDOH ALSO SERVES THE BODY OF CHRIST THROUGH ITS RETREAT AND CONFERENCE CENTER MINISTRY, BY PROVIDING A FACILITY OF EXCELLENCE FOR GOD'S PEOPLE TO CONDUCT THEIR KINGDOM BUILDING PROGRAMS AND MINISTRIES.

TO SUPPORT AND PROMOTE A MEANS FOR MAINTAINING A SENIOR CENTER IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE SPECIFIC GOALS, BASED ON THE NEEDS AND INTERESTS OF OLDER PERSONS, THOSE 50 AND OLDER EXCEPT FOR THOSE PROGRAMS THAT RECEIVE STATE AND FEDERAL FUNDING WHICH REQUIRES OLDER PERSONS TO BE 60 YEARS OF AGE, THOSE PHYSICALLY OR MENTALLY CHALLENGED, AND THOSE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS, WITHIN THE SERVICE AREA OF HILLSDALE COUNTY.

TO PROMOTE AND ADVANCE THE INTEREST OF AGRICULTURE, HORTICULTURE, HOUSEHOLD ARTS AND MECHANIC ARTS & SCIENCES AND ALL KINDRED SCIENCES AND ARTS IN THEIR VARIED BRANCHES; TO DEVELOP ALL FORMS OF YOUTH CLUB WORK, THROUGH EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND DEMONSTRATIONS OF NEW SKILL TECHNIQUES AND KNOWLEDGE IN THE ARTS AND SCIENCES RELATED TO THE YOUTH PROGRAM CONDUCTED IN COOPERATION WITH AND BY THE MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY EXTENSION; TO PROMOTE AND CONDUCT AGRICULTURAL, INDUSTRIAL, EDUCATIONAL AND RECREATIONAL FAIRS AND EXHIBITIONS, AND TO PROVIDE ENTERTAINMENT AND AMUSEMENT THEREWITH FOR THE PURPOSE OF DRAWING THE ATTENTION OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
