The Nonprofit Ecosystem in Ann Arbor

MISSION:

THE MICHIGAN ROWING ASSOCIATION (MRA) IS AN ORGANIZATION THAT PRIMARILY FURTHERS AND SUPPORTS THE SPORT OF ROWING FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN ROWING TEAM (UMRT), AND SUPPORTS ROWING IN THE ANN ARBOR, MICHIGAN COMMUNITY. THE ORGANIZATION IS TIED TO THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN ROWING TEAM IN THAT THE INCOME INCURRED BY THE PROGRAM FALLS UNDER THE AUSPICES OF MRA. MRA WAS FORMED SINCE IT WAS SEEN AS A MORE STABLE ORGANIZATION THAN UMRT. FOR LIABILITY REASONS MRA DOES NOT HOLD THE TITLE TO THE UMRT EQUIPMENT. ANY EQUIPMENT PURCHASED IN RELATION TO UMRT IS IMMEDIATELY DONATED TO UMRT. MRA COLLECTS PROGRAM SERVICE FEES TO PAY FOR THE COACHES, EQUIPMENT, AND FOR INSURANCE.

MISSION:

The goal of this organization is to provide services relating to religion where a more specific code cannot be accurately assigned. Examples may include Unitarianism, Taoism, Sikhs, Zoroastrism, Atheism, Actualism, Theosophy, Bahaism and reference to miracles.

The goal of this organization are the consultation, training, and other forms of management assistance services to nonprofit groups within the Health - General and Rehabilitative major group area.

The goal of this organization are the organizations whose members are business and professional men and/or women or other individuals who have a common interest in improving the life of the community, which conduct fund-raising events to finance community service projects. Many service clubs are chapters of national or international organizations.

MICHIGAN HELPS MEDICAL TEAM IS A JACKSON MICHIGAN BASED MEDICAL AND DENTAL TEAM WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH HELPS INTERNATIONAL IN DALLAS, TEXAS TO BRING MEDICAL SERVICES TO RURAL GUATEMALA. EACH YEAR SINCE 1994, WE TAKE A TEAM OF DOCTORS, NURSES, DENTISTS, ALLIED HEALTH PROFESSIONALS AND SUPPORT STAFF TO PROVIDE GENERAL AND GYENCOLOGICAL SURGERY, SURGERY FOR CLEFT LIP, CLUB FEET AND STRABISMUS IN KIDS, DENTAL CARE, AND MEDICAL CLINICS. WE ALSO CONSTRUCT COOKING STOVES AND WATER PURIFICATION UNITS IN HOMES AS A WAY TO PROMOTE HEALTHY LIVING. ALL CARE IS FREE.
