THE ORGANIZATION IS DESIGNATED THE ANTI-POVERTY COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCY FOR BERKSHIRE COUNTY, MASSACHUSETTS AND ANY NEIGHBORING AREA THAT MAY BE APPROPRIATE. IT WAS FORMED FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELIMINATING POVERTY BY MOBILIZING COMMUNITY RESOURCES FOR THE CREATION OF OPPORTUNITIES IN EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT, AND FOR THE BETTERMENT OF CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH PEOPLE LIVE.

The goal of this organization is to provide all forms of support except for financial assistance, fund raising, or patient care services for other organizations within the Health General and Rehabilitative major group area.

THE PURPOSE OF HILLCREST EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION, INC. IS TO SUPPORT THE FUNCTIONS OF AND CARRY OUT THE PURPOSES OF HILLCREST EDUCATIONAL CENTERS, INC., HILLCREST DENTAL CARE, INC. AND BERKSHIRE COUNTY KIDS' PLACE & VIOLENCE PREVENTION CENTER, INC. (COLLECTIVELY, THE "SUPPORTED ORGANIZATIONS"). THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES FINANCIAL SUPPORT AND SERVICES TO THE SUPPORTED ORGANIZATIONS AS RECOMMENDED BY THE FOUNDATION BOARD. THE FOUNDATION BOARD MEMBERS ARE ALSO MEMBERS OF THE BOARDS OF THE SUPPORTED ORGANIZATIONS TO ENSURE THAT ALL ACTIVITIES DIRECTLY FURTHER THE EXEMPT PURPOSES OF THOSE SUPPORTED ORGANIZATIONS.

The goal of this organization is to develop, rehabilitate, manage and/or provide rental housing that is available to people who qualify on the basis of income, age or disability for publicly subsidized housing e.g., HUD housing or housing assistance under Section 8 of the Housing and Urban Development Act.

The goal of this organization is to build, rehabilitate, manage and/or provide rental housing for low-income individuals and families, older adults and people with disabilities; or which make purchasable housing available to low or moderate income families by offering lower priced housing and/or affordable payment plans, by arranging for interest or mortgage subsidies or by involving eventual owners in the construction process (sweat equity).
