THE PRIMARY ACTIVITY OF THE KLMC IS THE PRESENTATION OF AN ANNUAL CONFERENCE THAT FEATURES SPEAKERS AND PANEL DISCUSSIONS ADDRESSING TIEMELY TOPICS OF CONCERN TO BOTH LABOR AND MANAGEMENT. THE GOAL IS TO PROVIDE BOTH PARTIES WITH THE CONCERNS OF THE OTHER ON MATTERS OF COMMON INTEREST. THE CONFERENCE ALSO AWARDS THOSE WHO HAVE MADE SIGNIFICANT CONTRIBUTIONS TO POSITIVE LABOR/MANAGEMENT RELATIONS; YOUNG LABOR/MANGEMENT LEADERS WHO HAVE ALREADY DISTINGUISHED THEMSELVES IN THEIR RESPECTIVE FIELDS; AND, SCHOLARSHIPS FOR STUDENTS PURSUING POST- SECONDARY EDUCATION IN LABOR/MANAGEMENT RELATIONS. THE CONFERENCE ALSO PROMOTES IMPROVED RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN MEMBERS OF LABOR AND MANAGEMENT THROUGH A VARIETY OF EVENTS.

Included are conservation of the nations forests, rangeland, vegetation, deserts, wild and scenic rivers and other wilderness areas and open land spaces; and reestablishment of areas that have been devastated by destructive activities such as strip mining or other destructive activities.

TO HOLD ANNUAL AREA AND STATEWIDE MEETINGS FOR DISTRICT SUPERVISORS, DISTRICT STAFF, FEDERAL & STATE AGENCY EMPLOYEES AND OTHER INTERESTED INDIVIDUALS. AND TO HOLD ENVIROTHON CONTEST FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS, ART & WRITING CONTEST FOR STUDENTS FROM 1 - 12 GRADES, AND PROVIDE COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS.
