THE FOUNDATION WAS ORGANIZED TO FOSTER, PROMOTE, SUPPORT, DEVELOP, ENCOURAGE AND MAINTAIN CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES AND VITAL HUMAN AND EDUCATIONAL SERVICES AS AUTHORIZED IN ITS BY-LAWS AND THE CHARTER OF THE JEWISH FEDERATION OF METROPOLITAN CHICAGO.

MISSION:

ISTSS IS AN INTERNATIONAL MULTIDISCIPLINARY, PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP ORGANIZATION THAT PROMOTES ADVANCEMENT AND EXCHANGE OF KNOWLEDGE ABOUT SEVERE STRESS AND TRAUMA. THE MAJOR ACTIVITIES FOR ISTSS ARE THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE, SYMPOSIUMS, A PROFESSIONAL JOURNAL AND OTHER PUBLICATIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS.

MISSION:

Because of their endowments, they are focused primarily on grantmaking and generally do not actively raise funds or seek public financial support. CTJMF IS BOTH A FUNDRAISING AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT ENTITY FOCUSED EXCLUSIVELY ON SEEING THE BURGE TORTURE SURVIVORS MEMORIAL INTO EXISTENCE. FORMED BY TORTURE SURVIVORS AND ORGANIZERS FROM THE #REPARATIONSWON MOVEMENT, CTJMF OPERATES WITH THE GOAL OF OBTAINING FULL FUNDING FOR AND CONSTRUCTING THE MEMORIAL.
