SOCIAL APOSTOLATE OF SAVANNAH THE ORGANIZATION), IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE CATHOLIC DIOCESE OF SAVANNAH SERVING THE POOR, THE HOMELESS, THE DISABLED, AND THE "AT RISK" OF OUR SOCIETY IN THE CITY OF SAVANNAH IN WITNESS TO THE BIBLICAL VALUES OF CHARITY AND JUSTICE. THE ORGANIZATION ASSISTS INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES IN THE GREATER SAVANNAH AREA THROUGH DIFFICULT SITUATIONS WITH PERSONALIZED SUPPORT AND DIRECT AID. DIRECT SERVICES INCLUDE A SOUP KITCHEN, CLOTHING AND PERSONAL CARE SUPPLIES, GROCERY ASSISTANCE, PRESCRIPTION ASSISTANCE AND SCHOOL UNIFORM VOUCHERS. IT ALSO OFFERS WORK SUPPORT SERVICES AND A VITAL DOCUMENTS PROGRAM TO HELP PEROPLE OBTAIN CERTIFIED BIRTH CERTIFICATES AND GEORGIA IDS, BOTH INTENDED TO EMPOWER INDIVUDUALS TO BECOME MORE ECONOMICALLY SELF-SUFFICIENT.

The goal of this organization are the organizations like chambers of commerce, business leagues and commercial trade associations whose members are businessmen and women and merchants who have affiliated for the purpose of promoting the general commercial interests of the community or the interests of their own trade. [Many of these are found in section 501(c)(6) business leagues; and 501(c)(6) chambers of commerce.]

THE SJH MEDICAL STAFF FOUNDATION WAS ESTABLISHED TO HOLD, INVEST AND DISBURSE FUNDS DERIVED FROM MEDICAL STAFF DUES. THE FOUNDATION'S MISSION IS TO USE THESE FUNDS IN SUPPORT OF STAFF PHYSICIANS' EFFORTS TO DELIVER HIGH QUALITY PATIENT CARE WITHIN THE ST. JOSEPH'S CANDLER HEALTHCARE SYSTEM.
