THE PETIT FAMILY FOUNDATION HONORS THE MEMORIES OF JENNIFER HAWKE-PETIT, HAYLEY ELIZABETH PETIT, AND MICHAELA ROSE PETIT BY CONTINUING THE KINDNESS, IDEALISM AND ACTIVISM THAT DEFINED THEIR LIVES. THE FOUNDATION'S FUNDS ARE GIVEN TO FOSTER THE EDUCATION OF YOUNG PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY WOMEN IN THE SCIENCES; TO IMPROVE THE LIVES OF THOSE AFFECTED BY CHRONIC ILLNESS; AND TO SUPPORT EFFORTS TO PROTECT AND HELP THOSE AFFECTED BY VIOLENCE.

RENOVATING A SCHOOL BUILDING INTO 28 FAMILY LIVING UNITS FOR HOMELESS FAMILIES OF LOW INCOME AND TO OFFER SUBSIDIZED HOUSING AND SOCIAL SERVICES TO ASSIST DISADVANTAGED FAMILIES RESIDING THERE TO OVERCOME SUBSTANCE AND/OR PHYSICAL ABUSE TO HELP ENABLE THEM TO HAVE A CHANCE OF GAINING BETTER SOCIO-ECONOMIC OUTCOMES.

THE MISSION OF THE ORGANIZATION IS: PRESERVATION OF NATURAL RESOURCES OF THE STATE OF CONNECTICUT, INCLUDING WATER RESOURCES, MARSHLAND, SWAMP, WOODLAND, OPEN SPACES AND PLANT AND ANIMAL LIFE THEREIN. PRESERVATION OF UNIQUE HISTORIC AND SCENIC SITES. PROMOTE THE SCIENTIFIC STUDY OF AND EDUCATE THE PUBLIC REGARDING LOCAL NATURAL RESOURCES INCLUDING PLANTS, ANIMALS, BIRDS AND OTHER WILDLIFE.
