THE PURPOSE OF COMMUNITY MINISTRY IS TO MEET THE BASIC NEEDS OF INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE EXPERIENCING ECONOMIC HARDSHIPS AND RELATED PROBLEMS. VILLA MARIA, INC. WAS FORMED ON MAY 7, 1996, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE NOT-FOR-PROFIT STATUTES OF THE STATE OF COLORADO FOR THE PURPOSE OF OPERATING A 40-UNIT COMMUNITY LOCATED IN WESTMINSTER, COLORADO, TO PROVIDE HOUSING AND RELATED SERVICES FOR VERY LOW-INCOME ELDERLY OR DISABLED PERSONS. THE CORPORATION RECEIVES HOUSING ASSISTANCE AND GRANTS FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT PURSUANT TO SECTION 202 OF THE NATIONAL HOUSING ACT, AS AMENDED.

MISSION:

The goal of this organization are the private foundations that make grants based on charitable endowments. Because of their endowments, they are focused primarily on grantmaking and generally do not actively raise funds or seek public financial support. These are the most common type of private foundation. They are generally endowed, usually from a single individual or family. Private foundations are considered family foundations if relatives or the original donor are still active on the board of trustees or in the operation of the foundation.

The goal of this organization are the private foundations that use a bulk of their resources to provide charitable services or run charitable programs of their own. They make few, if any, grants to outside organizations and, like private independent foundations, they generally do not raise funds from the public.
