TO INCULCATE THE PRINCIPLES OF CHARITY, JUSTICE, BROTHERLY LOVE AND FIDELITY; TO RECOGNIZE A BELIEF IN GOD; TO PROMOTE THE WELFARE AND ENHANCE THE HAPPINESS OF ITS MEMBERS; TO QUICKEN THE SPIRIT OF AMERICAN PATRIOTISM; TO CULTIVATE GOOD FELLOWSHIP; TO PERPETUATE ITSELF AS A FRATERNAL ORGANIZATION, AND TO PROVIDE FOR ITS GOVERNANCE, THE BENEVOLENT AND PROTECTIVE ORDER OF ELKS OF THE UNITED STATE OF AMERICA WILL SERVE THE PEOPLE AND COMMUNITIES THROUGH BENEVOLENT PROGRAMS, DEMONSTRATING THAT ELKS CARE AND ELKS SHARE.

THE GILROY RODEO ASSOCIATION (GRA) IS ORGANIZED EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE PURPOSE OF EDUCATING THE PUBLIC AND INFORMING THE YOUTH OF SANTA CLARA COUNTY AND SURROUNDING AREAS IN THE ART AND HISTORY OF THE COWBOY AND COWGIRL RODEO AND ABOUT AGRICULTURAL MATTERS. THIS PURPOSE IS ACCOMPLISHED BY GRA HOSTING AN ANNUAL, FAMILY-FRIENDLY RODEO AND EVENTS THAT EDUCATES AND ENTERTAINS THE PUBLIC, SUPPORTS SANTA CLARA COUNTY YOUTH, SHOWCASES WESTERN HERITAGE AND PROVIDES YEAR-ROUND EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT WITHIN THE COMMUNITY. THE GILROY RODEO ASSOCIATION IS AN ALL-VOLUNTEER, NOT-FOR-PROFIT PUBLIC BENEFIT CORPORATION. IT IS IN PURSUIT OF THESE GOALS THAT GRA SPONSORS ANNUAL PUBLIC FAIRS, EXHIBITIONS, RODEOS AND OTHER SPECIAL EVENTS. THESE EVENTS OFFER THE PUBLIC A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO BE EXPOSED TO AND INFORMED ABOUT THE MANY AREAS OF AGRICULTURE INCLUDING LIVESTOCK BREEDING AND IMPROVEMENT OF BREEDS, HORTICULTURE, HORSES, POULTRY, SWINE AND RESOURCE MANAGEMENT AND CONSERVATION.

The goal of this organization is to operate centers which offer, at a single location, a variety of recreational facilities such as athletic fields and courts, a gymnasium, a swimming pool and public lockers. Recreational centers usually offer an organized program of activities for community residents and provide all necessary equipment.
