Because of their endowments, they are focused primarily on grantmaking and generally do not actively raise funds or seek public financial support. These are the most common type of private foundation. They are generally endowed, usually from a single individual or family. Private foundations are considered family foundations if relatives or the original donor are still active on the board of trustees or in the operation of the foundation.

TO SUPPORT PARENTS AND FAMILIES WHO HAVE CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS WITH THE BELIEF THAT EVERY PERSON IS PRECIOUS AND CAPABLE OF LOVE, CONNECTION, AND FRIENDSHIP.

The goal of this organization is to operate facilities for cooperative group living experiences in the out-of-doors; and which provide opportunities to learn campcraft, nature lore and conservation, and participate in a wide range of indoor and outdoor recreational, athletic and group social activities including cookouts.

THE ENCORPS TEACHERS PROGRAM RECRUITS AN UNTAPPED POOL OF CAREER-CHANGING PROFESSIONALS WITH EXPERTISE IN SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING AND MATHEMATICS (STEM) AND TRANSITIONS THEM TO POSITIONS AS MATH AND SCIENCE TEACHERS IN HIGH NEED PUBLIC SCHOOLS
