THE CORPORATION RECEIVES HOUSING ASSISTANCE PAYMENTS FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT PURSUANT TO SECTION 202 OF THE NATIONAL HOUSING ACT, AS AMENDED.

THE CORPORATION WAS FORMED FOR THE PURPOSE OF OPERATING A 75 UNIT COMMUNITY KNOWN AS TELACU LAS PALOMAS LOCATED IN THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK, CALIFORNIA, WHICH PROVIDES HOUSING FOR VERY LOW-INCOME ELDERLY PERSONS. THE CORPORATION RECEIVES PROJECT RENTAL ASSISTANCE PAYMENTS FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT PURSUANT TO SECTION 202 OF THE NATIONAL HOUSING ACT, AS AMENDED.

MISSION:

IT HELPS COMMUNITIES TO ALLEVIATE THE EFFECTS OF DISASTERS, DISEASE AND ENDEMIC POVERTY THROUGHOUT THE WORLD BY PROVIDING PRIVATELY-FUNDED RELIEF, RECONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT AID. THE ORGANIZATION WORKS WITH PARTNER AGENCIES IN MANY COUNTRIES, INCLUDING LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL NGO'S, UN AND GOVERNMENT HEALTH AGENCIES AND OTHER CIVIL SOCIETY INSTITUTIONS. EACH PARTNER AGENCY RECEIVES A LIST OF AVAILABLE SUPPLIES AND EVALUATES THEM IN RELATION TO LOCAL NEEDS. THEN THE SUPPLIES ARE PACKED AND SHIPPED BY AIR, SEA AND LAND TO WHERE THE GREATEST NEED EXISTS (INCLUDING IN AREAS OF NORTH AMERICA, EUROPE, CAMBODIA, EL SALVADOR, TURKEY AND SYRIA).

MISSION:

MENORAH TERRACE, A CALIFORNIA NON-PROFIT CORPORATION, WAS FORMED TO OPERATE A 39-UNIT RENTAL HOUSING PROJECT FOR VERY LOW INCOME ELDERLY LOCATED IN LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA. OPERATIONS BEGAN IN JANUARY 1983. MORTGAGE FINANCING WAS PROVIDED BY THE CALIFORNIA HOUSING FINANCE AGENCY. THE PROJECT IS REGULATED UNDER THE TERMS OF A HOUSING ASSISTANCE PAYMENTS CONTRACT WITH HUD, INCLUDING RENT CHANGES, OPERATING METHODS, AND OTHER MATTERS.

IN MAY 2022, THE INSTITUTION ENTERED INTO A COLLABORATION AND SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY (ASU) WHERE EACH PARTY TO THE AGREEMENT WOULD PROVIDE CERTAIN DEFINED SERVICES IN-KIND OR FOR CASH. THE AGREEMENT PROVIDES FOR SHARING EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES, EQUIPMENT, CURRICULA, AND INSTRUCTION.

The goal of this organization is to assist in the prevention or treatment of AIDS, a disease that impairs the functioning of the bodys immune system, leaving affected individuals vulnerable to illnesses that would not otherwise occur.

PRO-LIFE SERVICES INCLUDING NATION-WIDE OUTREACH NETWORK, REFERRAL, EDUCATION, COUNSELING, FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, BABY FOOD, SUPPLY AND FURNITURE IN SUPPORT FOR PREGNANT WOMAN AND MOTHERS WITH INFANTS. ONE OF THE AFFILIATE CENTERS HAS ADDED LIMITED ULTRASOUND IMAGING FOR CLIENTS
