Private foundations are considered family foundations if relatives or the original donor are still active on the board of trustees or in the operation of the foundation.

SONORAN DESERT CONFERENCE CENTER PROVIDES MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY WITH A PLACE TO GATHER FOR GROUP ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES, HISTORICAL EVENTS, PUBLIC GATHERINGS, COMMUNITY CELEBRATIONS, AND OTHER ACTIVITIES OF NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS, LOCAL BUSINESSES, AND INDIVIDUALS. THE CENTER ALSO PROVIDES LODGING TO VISITORS OF THE AJO, ARIZONA REGION AND LOCAL RESIDENTS.

PROGRAMS THAT INCLUDE ANNUAL CLOTHING PROJECT, PROJECT GRADUATION, COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS, THERAPEUTIC RIDING FOR THE AND VARIOUS OTHER PROJECTS. HANDICAPPED AND EMERGENCY NEEDS.
