BNL IS A SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH FACILITY FUNDED BY THE US DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY AND EMPLOYEES APPROXIMATELY 2,700 EMPLOYEES. . ALL MEMBERS OF BERA'S GOVERNING BOARD ARE EMPLOYEES OF BNL AND ARE ELECTED BY THE EMPLOYEES OF BNL TO THREE YEAR TERMS. ALL BOARD MEMBERS AND OFFICERS SERVE ON A VOLUNTARY BASIS AND RECEIVE NO COMPENSATION. PARTICIPANT FEES ARE OFFERED AT OR NEAR COST TO BNL EMPLOYEES AND THEIR FAMILIES.
