The goal of this organization is to emphasize the total development of young people through work on animal, engineering, family/consumer health, resource, plant or social science projects in consultation with their parents and supervising adult volunteers. Members also participate in camping activities, leadership conferences, awards programs and community service activities.

BROWN GIRLS CODE IS A GLOBAL NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION WORKING TO CLOSE THE GENDER AND DIVERSITY GAP IN TECHNOLOGY OUR PROGRAMS EQUIP UNDERREPRESENTED GIRLS AGES 7 - 18 WITH THE SKILLS AND TRAINING NEEDED TO PURSUE 21ST CENTURY OPPORTUNITIES IN COMPUTER SCIENCE, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, CYBERSECURITY AND OTHER STEAM-RELATED FIELDS. PROGRAMMING INCLUDES WORKSHOPS AND AFTERSCHOOL CLUBS ON CODING, CYBERSECURITY, ROBOTICS ENGINEERING, DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP, CYBERBULLYING PREVENTION AS WELL AS THE DEVELOPMENT OF ENTREPRENEURIAL AND LEADERSHIP SKILLS.

IT TAKES A VILLAGE IS A 501 C3 NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION FOUNDED BY AN AFRICAN AMERICAN VETERINARIAN DR. VERNARD HODGES. DR. HODGES ATTENDED FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY A PROMINENT AGRICULTURAL HISTORICAL BLACK COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY. HE STARTED IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO EXPOSE CHILDREN TO CAREERS IN STEM PARTICULARLY VETERINARY AND AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES. THE FOUNDATION RECEIVED A GRANT FROM THE USDA NATIONAL RESOURCES CONSERVATION SERVICE TO ASSIST FIELD AGENTS IN GEORGIA AND ALABAMA WITH REVIEWING CONSERVATION CONTRACTS HELD BY PRODUCERS IN THOSE STATES.

BANKHEAD BOYS BLENDS THE INFLUENCE OF CORPORATE WORK PLACE MENTORING SOCIAL SERVICES AND THE VALUES AND DISCIPLINE OF SCOUTING INTO OUR PROGRAM TO PROVIDE A PATH FOR OPPORTUNITY CITIZENSHIP AND LEADERSHIP.
