THE MISSION OF THE FILSON HISTORICAL SOCIETY IS TO COLLECT, PRESERVE, AND SHARE THE SIGNIFICANT HISTORY AND CULTURE OF KENTUCKY AND THE OHIO VALLEY. THE FILSON IS COMMITTED TO THE WORK OF PRESERVATION ACCESS AND EDUCATION PURSUING EVER GREATER DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION, ITS OPERATIONS ARE CHARACTERIZED BY EXCELLENCE, SERVICE, AND INTEGRITY. WAS INCORPORATED UNDER NEW YORK STATE NOT FOR PROFIT CORPORATION LAW FOR THE PURPOSE OF OPERATING A PRIVATE RECREATIONAL GOLF CLUB EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE PLEASURE AND RECREATION OF ITS MEMBERS, THEIR FAMILIES AND GUESTS. THE CLUB IS FUNDED BY DUES, FEES AND CHARGES TO THE MEMBERSHIP FOR THE USE OF THE FACILITIES.
