BRACKEN VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT PROTECTS APPROXIMATELY 7,000 PEOPLE LIVING IN AN AREA THAT IS APPROXIMATELY 70 SQUARE MILES, THAT INCLUDES THE CITY OF GARDEN RIDGE AND A PRIMARILY RURAL AREA. THE DEPARTMENT PROVIDES FIREFIGHTING, BASIC LIFE SUPPORT EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES, ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES, VEHICLE RESCUE, SEARCH AND RESCUE, AND OTHER TECHNICAL/SPECIALIZED RESCUES.
