THE 23-UNIT RESIDENTIAL COMPLEX PROVIDES AFFORDABLE HOUSING FOR CHRONICALLY MENTALLY ILL RESIDENTS OF PONCA CITY, OKLAHOMA

OUR MISSION IS TO HELP PEOPLE RETURN TO INDEPENDENT LIVING AND BE SELF-SUFFICIENT. THE HWH MODEL IS PARTNER BASED AND ENCOMPASSES HOUSING, MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES, WORKFORCE TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT. THIS SUPPORTIVE STRUCTURE AND SERVICES HELP PEOPLE STABILIZE, DEVELOP A SUPPORT NETWORK, BECOME TRAINED, GAIN EXPERIENCE, OBTAIN A JOB, SECURE INDEPENDENT HOUSING AND ULTIMATELY BECOME SELF-SUFFICIENT.

PROVIDING HOUSING FOR CHRONICALLY MENTALLY ILL PERSONS BY OPERATING A HUD- ASSISTED APARTMENT COMMUNITY REGULATED UNDER SECTION 202 OF THE NATIONAL HOUSING ACT.

A SERVICE PROVIDER REQUESTS HOMEAIDS ASSISTANCE TO CONSTRUCT OR RENOVATE HOUSING FOR THEIR HOMELESS CLIENTS. HOMEAID THEN MATCHES THE SERVICE PROVIDER WITH A LOCALBUILDER OR CONTRACTOR, THROUGH AN RFP PROCESS, WHO WILL SUPERVISE AND MANAGE THE BUILDING OF THE PROJECT. THE BUILDER MOBILIZES ITS SUBCONTRACTORS, SUPPLIERS, AND CONSULTANTS TO COMPLETE THE PROJECT, AND ASKS THAT THEY EACH DONATE SOME OR ALL OF THE LABOR AND MATERIALS REQUIRED FOR THE PROJECT.HOMEAID HAS COMPLETED 30 PROJECTS SINCE INCEPTION, AND HAS 2 PROJECTS IN VARIOUS STAGES OF PLANNING, ENTITLEMENTS, AND CONSTRUCTION.HOMEAIDS SUPPORT IS PRIMARILY IN-KIND SKILLED LABOR AND MATERIALS, AND CASH CONTRIBUTIONS FROM CORPORATE AND ORGANIZATION DONORS.
