PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR LOW AND MODERATE INCOME HOUSEHOLDS TO SECURE DECENT AND AFFORDABLE HOUSING IN STORY COUNTY BY OFFERING COUNSEL AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO LOW TO MODERATE INCOME FAMILIES, PRESERVING THE QUALITY AND AFFORDABILITY OF HOUSING FOR SUCH HOUSHOLDS AND DETERMINING THE NEEDS FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING AND EDUCATIING THE PUBLIC OF SUCH NEEDS

THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION IS TO PROVIDE AFFORDABLE HOUSING TO PERSONS OF LOW INCOME AS DEFINED BY THE HUD MEDIAN INCOME STATISTICS FOR THE OAKLAND AREA. RENTS CHARGED ARE DEFINED AS AFFORDABLE DUE TO THEM BEING LESS THAN 30% OF THE INCOME CUTOFF FOR EACH CATEGORY. THERE ARE A TOTAL OF 8 AFFORDABLE HOUSING UNITS.

NEW PROSPECTS HOUSING CORPORATION IS A NOT-FOR-PROFIT CORPORATION FORMED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE NOT-FOR-PROFIT STATUTES OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA. THE CORPORATION WAS FORMED FOR THE PURPOSE OF OPERATING A 12 UNIT COMMUNITY KNOWN AS NEW PROSPECTS LOCATED IN ANDERSON, SOUTH CAROLINA, WHICH PROVIDES HOUSING FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES. THE CORPORATION RECEIVES HOUSING ASSISTANCE FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT PURSUANT TO SECTION 811 OF THE NATIONAL HOUSING ACT, AS AMENDED.

TO PROVIDE AN ARRAY OF INDEPENDENT LIVING SERVICES AND PROGRAMS THAT HELP MAXIMIZE THE LEADERSHIP, EMPOWERMENT, INDEPENDENCE AND PRODUCTIVITY OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES INTO THE MAINSTREAM OF AMERICAN SOCIETY.
