LAND PRESERVATION AGAINST PARTITION OR DIVISION, TO PRESERVE NATURAL CHARACTERISTICS AND BEAUTY, AND TO USE THE LAND AND RANCHHOUSE AS A CENTER OF SOCIAL AND RECREATIONAL LIFE FOR FAMILY.

MISSION:

WHIDBEY ISLAND NOURISHE'S (WIN) PRIMARY ACTIVITY IS TO PROVIDE SOUTH WHIDBEY CHILDREN AND TEENS NUTRITIOUS FOOD FOR WEEKENDS AND SCHOOL VACATIONS. THE FOOD WIN DISTRIBUTES IS EITHER HEALTHY LUNCH-BASED GROCERY ITEMS OR READY TO EAT SACK LUNCHES. EACH ENROLLED CHILD RECEIVES ENOUGH FOOD FOR TWO LUNCHES PER WEEKEND.MEALS ARE DISTRIBUTED TO STUDENTS AT SCHOOL TO TAKE HOME OR DELIVERED DIRECTLY TO THEIR HOUSEHOLD. READY-TO-EAT LUNCH ITEMS ARE ALSO MADE AVAILABLE TO COMMUNITY PARTNERS TO DISTRIBUTE TO YOUTH THEY SERVE. ADDITIONALLY, WIN'S SNACK PROGRAM PROVIDES FRESH FRUIT AND VEGETABLE SNACKS TO ALL STUDENTS IN KINDERGARTEN THROUGH 6TH GRADE AT THE SOUTH WHIDBEY SCHOOL DISTRICT TO ENCOURAGE HEALTHY EATING.

THE MISSION STATEMENT OF THE FORT WORTH FOOD & WINE FOUNDATION IS TO HONOR THE DISTINCTIVE NATURE OF FORT WORTH COOKING, FOOD, BEVERAGE, AND CULINARY TRADITIONS BY PROMOTING NATIONAL AND REGIONAL ATTENTION TO THE FORT WORTH SCENE AND ASSISTING AND SUSTAINING CHEFS, RESTAURANTS, AND THE LOCAL RANCHING AND FARMING COMMUNITIES TO RAISE FUNDS FOR LOCAL GRANT PROGRAMS AND CULINARY SCHOLARSHIPS; TO ELEVATE THE SKILLS AND CULINARY KNOWLEDGE OF THE GENERAL CONSUMER; AND TO PROVIDE INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCES FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN PURSUING A CAREER IN PUBLIC RELATIONS OR MARKETING.
