DRYHOOTCH OF AMERICA (DHOA)S MISSION STATEMENT IS SIMPLE: HELPING VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES WHO SURVIVED THE WAR, THRIVE IN THE PEACE. THIS MISSION IS ACCOMPLISHED IN TWO WAYS: 1) BY PROVIDING A SOCIAL SPACE (COFFEE HOUSE) WHERE VETERANS, THEIR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS, AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS CAN GATHER IN A STIGMA-FREE ENVIRONMENT, AND 2) BY DELIVERING A PEER SUPPORT PROGRAM THAT ALLOWS VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS TO RECEIVE ONE-ON-ONE PEER MENTORING OR PARTICIPATE IN PEER SUPPORT GROUPS.
