THE PURPOSE OF THE ORGANIZATION IS TO LEND SUPPORT, BOTH MORAL AND FINANCIAL, TO THE LAFAYETTE HIGH SCHOOL BAND AND TO COOPERATE WITH THE BAND DIRECTORS IN ORDER TO PRODUCE THE HIGHEST DEGREE OF PERFORMANCE.

DRUM & BUGLE CORPS PROVIDE OPPORTUNITY TO ENHANCE ARTISTIC PERFORMANCE AND MUSICAL SKILLS IN YOUTH 14-21, BUILDING CHARACTER AND SOCIAL SKILLS.

THE VIENNA JAMMERS' MISSION IS TO EDUCATE YOUTH THROUGH UNIQUE PERCUSSION PROGRAMS, PROVIDE A DYNAMIC AND DIVERSE EXPERIENCE IN THE PERFORMING ARTS, NURTURE THE CREATIVITY OF EACH CHILD, AND ENRICH THE LIVES WITHIN THE COMMUNITY. THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC PREVENTED THE GROUP ENSEMBLES FROM MEETING ALL TOGETHER DUE TO SIZE LIMITATIONS INDOORS. TO KEEP THE PROGRAMS RUNNING, A PRACTICE MARIMBA WAS BUILT FOR EACH MARIMBA GROUP MEMBER TO HAVE AT HOME. EQUIPMENT WAS PURCHASED TO ALLOW FOR STREAMING OF REHEARSALS, AND EACH LARGER ENSEMBLE WAS SPLIT IN HALF AND ALTERNATED MEETING LIVE AND VIRTUALLY TO ACCOMODATE AS MANY STUDENTS IN PERSON AS SAFELY AS POSSIBLE, WHILE MAINTAINING SOCIAL-DISTANCING GUIDELINES AS STATED BY THE CDC.
