Part 3 - Line 4a

GENERAL CLUB PROGRAMMING: SINCE 2000, BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON HAS PROVIDED A SAFE, POSITIVE ENVIRONMENT FOR THE YOUTH WHO NEED US MOST. WE ARE ONE OF THE ONLY AGENCIES IN CLARK COUNTY TO OFFER DAILY, AFFORDABLE, AFTER-SCHOOL AND SUMMER PROGRAMS, WITH A SPECIFIC FOCUS ON UNDER-SERVED NEIGHBORHOODS. IN 2021, WE SERVED OVER 1,100 YOUTH FROM KINDERGARTEN THROUGH 12TH GRADES AT SIX CLUB SITES, OFFERING HIGH-QUALITY, STRUCTURED ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS IN THREE CORE AREAS: ACADEMIC SUCCESS, CHARACTER AND LEADERSHIP, AND HEALTHY LIFESTYLES. WE ALSO PROVIDED MENTORING AND TUTORING, FAMILY OUTREACH ACTIVITIES, AND NUTRITIOUS MEALS AND SNACKS DAILY. FOR AS LITTLE AS $60 PER YEAR, CLUB MEMBERS WERE ABLE TO ACCESS OUR PROGRAMS AND SERVICES FIVE DAYS A WEEK. NO CHILD IS TURNED AWAY FOR INABILITY TO PAY.

FOOD PROGRAM: DUE TO THE INCREASED FOOD INSECURITY CAUSED BY THE HEALTH PANDEMIC IN OUR COMMUNITY, BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON EXPANDED OUR FOOD DISTRIBUTION EFFORTS. IN 2021 WE SERVED 10,403 MEALS, 36,099 SNACKS, AND DISTRIBUTED 27,056 POUNDS OF FOOD TO CLUB MEMBERS AND FAMILIES. IN PARTNERSHIP WITH OUR LOCAL FOOD BANK WE WERE ABLE TO HOST THREE WEEKLY FOOD PANTRIES, PROVIDING MUCH NEEDED FOOD STAPLES. CLUB MEMBERS ARE TWICE AS LIKELY AS THEIR PEERS TO HAVE HEALTH DAILY AMOUNTS OF FRUITS AND VEGETABLES.

COLLEGE PREP: OUR COLLEGE PREP PROGRAM SERVED 45 TEENS THIS YEAR THROUGH COLLEGE AND CAREER EXPOSURE ACTIVITIES, SKILL BUILDING WORKSHOPS, CAMPUS VISITS, AND TUTORING SUPPORT. SIXTY-SEVEN (67) PERCENT OF OUR PARTICIPANTS COME FROM FAMILIES WHO QUALIFY FOR FREE AND REDUCED LUNCH AND 65 PERCENT ARE FIRST GENERATION COLLEGE-GOING YOUTH.
