DONOR-ADVISED FUND GRANTS: THE DENVER FOUNDATION GAVE 3,850 GRANTS FROM DONOR-ADVISED FUNDS IN 2021, REPRESENTING APPROXIMATELY 70% OF THE GRANTS MADE BY THE DENVER FOUNDATION. THESE GRANTS SUPPORTED CHARITABLE ENDEAVORS IN NEARLY EVERY TYPE AND SIZE OF A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION. THE MAJORITY OF THESE ORGANIZATIONS ARE LOCATED IN THE SEVEN-COUNTY METRO DENVER AREA; HOWEVER, THESE FUNDS CAN MAKE GRANTS TO ANY U.S.-BASED CHARITY.


COMMUNITY GRANTS: FUNDED BY GENEROUS GIFTS FROM DONORS THROUGHOUT THE 97-YEAR HISTORY OF THE FOUNDATION, COMMUNITY GRANTS SUPPORT NONPROFITS THAT HELP ACHIEVE THE FOUNDATION'S MISSION OF IMPROVING LIFE IN METRO DENVER. THROUGH THE COMMUNITY GRANTS PROGRAM, THE DENVER FOUNDATION INVESTS IN NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS AND COLLABORATIONS THAT ARE REDUCING DISPARITIES AND PROMOTING EQUITY IN THE COMMUNITIES, PRIORITIZING PEOPLE LIVING IN POVERTY, IMMIGRANTS AND REFUGEES, AND PEOPLE OF COLOR IN METRO DENVER. THROUGH THIS GRANTMAKING, WE SUPPORT NONPROFITS THAT SERVE THE SEVEN-COUNTY METRO DENVER AREA; ADVANCE OUR CORE VALUES OF CONSTITUENT ENGAGEMENT AND RACIAL EQUITY; AND ALIGN WITH OUR PRIORITY FUNDING AREAS OF CLIMATE AND ENVIRONMENT, ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY, EDUCATION, HOUSING, AND TRANSPORTATION. TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR FUNDING, ORGANIZATIONS MUST HAVE A 501 (C)(3) TAX-EXEMPT STATUS, SERVE RESIDENTS IN ADAMS, ARAPAHOE, BOULDER, BROOMFIELD, DENVER, DOUGLAS, OR JEFFERSON COUNTIES, AND FULFILL THE GOALS OUTLINED IN THE PUBLISHED GRANT GUIDELINES AVAILABLE AT WWW.DENVERFOUNDATION.ORG.


THE DENVER FOUNDATION OPERATES 78 DIFFERENT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS. IN 2021 THESE PROGRAMS AWARDED 1,210 SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENTS IN 86 SCHOOLS.
