DAUGHTERS OVERCOMING LIFE'S LESSONS (D.O.L.L.S) & DREAMS INC IS A 501(C)(3) NON PROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT TEACHES GIRLS AND YOUNG WOMEN AGES 7-21, WHOSE LIFE EXPERIENCES HAVE PREVENTED THEM FROM UNLOCKING THEIR POTENTIAL, THE LIFE SKILLS THAT THEY NEED TO SUCCEED. TO ACCOMPLISH THIS, EACH GIRL PARTICIPATES IN PEER GROUPS, WORKSHOPS, ACTIVITIES, AND EVENTS THAT ADDRESS TOPICS SUCH AS SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL AWARENESS, HEALTH AND WELLNESS, YOUTH DEVELOPMENT, WORK-READINESS AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP, CULTURAL ARTS, AND RESTORATIVE JUSTICE. THIS EXPOSURE HELPS THE GIRLS GAIN THE SKILLS AND CONFIDENCE NEEDED TO MAKE HEALTHIER DECISIONS FOR THEMSELVES AND TO BECOME POSITIVE LEADERS AND ROLE MODELS IN THEIR COMMUNITIES.

DC DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT SERVICES MARION S. BARRY SUMMER YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM (MBSYEP) TO TEACH YOUNG WOMEN AGES 14-21 THE SOFT-SKILLS NEEDED TO FIND AND KEEP EMPLOYMENT.


ACHIEVEMENT CENTERS OF THE DC DEPARTMENT OF YOUTH REHABILITATION SERVICES TO PROVIDE LIFE SKILLS PROGRAMMING AND EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT TO YOUNG WOMEN AGES 14-21 WHO ARE INVOLVED WITH THE DC JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM. THIS PROGRAM IS CURRENTLY AT 83 PERCENT CAPACITY AND HAS A YOUTH SATISFACTION RATE OF 100%, ACCORDING TO SURVEYS. UNITED PLANNING ORGANIZATION UPO TO PROVIDE OUT-OF-SCHOOL TIME PROGRAMMING TO YOUNG WOMEN AGES 8-17 FOR SUMMER 2020 (VIRTUALLY DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.


NORTH CAPITAL COLLABORATIVE, INC NCCI: THE DREAM ACADEMY PROVIDES YOUTH THE TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE, AND HAND ON VALUABLE SKILLS AND LIFE LESSONS TO BUILD BETTER LIVES FOR THEMSELVES AND THEIR FAMILIES. THE PROGRAM IS "YOUTH LED" WHICH HAS MET YOUTH EDUCATIONAL AND ECONOMIC NEEDS BY INTEGRATING EDUCATIONAL AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP ACTIVITIES. YOUTH WILL EXPLORE THE DOMAINS OF YOUTH DEVELOPMENT, DEVELOP AND LEARN LIFE SKILLS, INCREASE HEALTH AND WELLNESS BY LEARNING HEALTHY STRATEGIES, MANAGING FINANCES AND MANAGING CONFLICTS TO ENRICH THEIR LIVES
