SEE SCHEDULE O.KNOCK KNOCK CHILDREN'S MUSEUM IS A COMMUNITY SPARK FOR ENGAGING, PLAYFUL LEARNING EXPERIENCES THAT INSPIRE AND SUPPORT LIFELONG LEARNING.

Part 3 - Line 4a

LEARNING ZONES AND STUDIOS: KNOCK KNOCK CHILDREN'S MUSEUM IN BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA SERVES CHILDREN AND FAMILIES OF THE CAPITAL AREA REGION. A) CHILDREN LEARN THROUGH PLAY IN OUR 18 LEARNING ZONES. B) CHILDREN ENJOY ART-MAKING AND STEM ACTIVITIES IN THE ART GARDEN AND MAKER SHOP THAT ARE FREE WITH ADMISSION. ACTIVITIES INCLUDE; MESSY MASTERPIECES, CLAY STUDIO, CONSTRUCTION JUNCTION, PAINTING, GUEST ARTISTS, A CHILDREN'S MUSIC FESTIVAL AND ROBOTICS PROGRAMS.


COMMUNITY ACCESS AND OUTREACH: SINCE OPENING IN 2017, THE KNOCK KNOCK CHILDREN'S MUSEUM HAS WORKED TO MEET NEEDS IN OUR SOCIOECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED NEIGHBORHOODS. THE MUSEUM'S ACCESS FOR ALL PROGRAM PROVIDES SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCEDPRICE ADMISSION TO ELECTRONIC BENEFIT TRANSFER (EBT) CARD HOLDERS, AREA TITLE 1 STUDENTS; HEAD START PROGRAMS; AND GROUPS FROM NON-PROFITS HELPING CHILDREN WITH MENTAL/PHYSICAL DISABILITIES WITH SPECIAL HOURS AND ABILITY BAGS. STAFF ALSO TRAVEL TO SCHOOLS IN 9-PARISH AREA TO PROVIDE PROGRAMMING AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATORS.


IN RESPONSE TO THE COVID-19 EPIDEMIC, IMPLEMENTED OUTREACH PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO ENGAGED WITH THE PUBLIC VIRTUALLY, THROUGH VIRTUAL MUSEUM TOURS, ONLINE INTERACTIVE PROGRAMMING, AND BY SENDING EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITY KITS TO FAMILIES AND COMMUNITY CENTERS.
