MULTICARE SOUTH KING HEALTH FOUNDATION SUPPORTS THE FACILITIES, PROGRAMS AND OPERATIONS OF MULTICARE HEALTH SYSTEM, A RELATED HEALTHCARE TAX-EXEMPT ENTITY, IN THE PRIMARY AREA OF SOUTH KING COUNTY, WA. IN 2019 MULTICARE SOUTH KING HEALTH FOUNDATION GRANTED $28,536 TO HELPING HANDS, A PROGRAM AT MULTICARE HEALTH SYSTEM. THESE FUNDS ARE USED BY SOCIAL WORKERS IN DIRECT SUPPORT OF PATIENTS AND FAMILIES WHO NEED A LITTLE EXTRA HELP. HELPING HANDS PAYS FOR ITEMS THE PATIENT URGENTLY NEEDS BUT CANNOT AFFORD SUCH AS PRESCRIPTIONS, MEDICAL EQUIPMENT OR TRANSPORTATION HOME.


IN 2019 MULTICARE SOUTH KING HEALTH FOUNDATION PROVIDED SUPPORT FOR SLEEP SACKS FOR SOUTH KING COUNTY IN THE AMOUNT OF $12,000. MULTICARE'S HOSPITALS RECENTLY BEGAN BUNDLING BABIES IN THE SLEEP SACKS SWADDLE, AND GIVE ONE TO EVERY NEWBORN TO TAKE HOME AS PART OF THE HOSPITAL'S EFFORTS TO KEEP BABIES SAFE DURING SLEEP. THE WEARABLE SLEEP SACKS ARE USED IN PLACE OF LOOSE BLANKETS THAT COULD BE A RISK FOR NEWBORNS.


IN 2019 MULTICARE SOUTH KING HEALTH FOUNDATION PROVIDED FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $200 FOR THE POPULAR CHRISTMAS RUSH FUN RUN AND WALK, AN ANNUAL KENT (KING COUNTY WA) TRADITION FOR 30 YEARS.
