THE COSTS NOW ASSOCIATED WITH THESE BURDENS IS $1.86 TRILLION PER YEAR WHICH IS 85% OF U.S. CORPORATE PROFITS AND ROUGHLY $15,000 PER YEAR PER HOUSEHOLD-- MORE THAN EVERY OTHER FAMILY EXPENSE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF MORTGAGE OR HOUSING. THE COSTS OF COMPLYING WITH REGULATIONS ARE PASSED ON TO THE CONSUMER, RAISING PRICES ON THE FOOD WE EAT, THE CLOTHES WE WEAR AND THE ENERGY PRICES WE PAY FOR GAS IN OUR CAR OR AIR CONDITIONING FOR OUR HOME.
