CONVENING FOR CHARTING THE FUTURE FOR INDIANA COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES (CHARTING THE FUTURE) - CHARTING THE FUTURE IS AN ONGOING STATEWIDE INITIATIVE FUNDED BY LILLY ENDOWMENT TO HELP LEADERS OF INDIANA'S 37 COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES ENGAGE IN THOUGHTFUL DISCERNMENT ABOUT THE FUTURE OF THEIR INSTITUTIONS AND ADVANCE STRATEGIC PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTATION EFFORTS TO ADDRESS KEY CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES. THROUGH THE INITIATIVE, THE ENDOWMENT APPROVED FUNDING THAT TOTALED MORE THAN 138 MILLION, WHICH INCLUDED PLANNING GRANTS, IMPLEMENTATION GRANTS, AND LARGE-SCALE PROJECT GRANTS. IN NOVEMBER 2021, THE ENDOWMENT CONVENED REPRESENTATIVES FROM THE 37 COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES TO NETWORK, LEARN TOGETHER AND ATTAIN INFORMATION THAT WOULD BE HELPFUL IN THINKING ABOUT AND ACTING ON THESE ISSUES AS THEY IMPLEMENT CHARTING THE FUTURE GRANTS AND OTHERWISE PLAN AND IMPLEMENT OTHER PROGRAMS AND STRATEGIES. THE ENDOWMENT INVITED NATIONAL HIGHER EDUCATION EXPERTS AND LOCAL BUSINESS LEADERS TO JOIN


GIFT COMMUNITY FOUNDATION CONVENING - IN 2021, THE ENDOWMENT PAID THE VENUE DEPOSIT FOR A CONVENING THAT WAS SCHEDULED FOR (AND HELD ON) 3/28/2022-3/29/2022 AT THE WESTIN HOTEL IN DOWNTOWN INDIANAPOLIS FOR INDIANA COMMUNITY FOUNDATIONS PARTICIPATING IN LILLY ENDOWMENT'S GIVING INDIANA FUNDS FOR TOMORROW (GIFT) INITIATIVE. THE CONVENING WAS DESIGNED TO EXPLORE CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES FACING INDIANA COMMUNITIES, WAYS FOR FOUNDATIONS TO GATHER INPUT AND COLLABORATE WITH LOCAL STAKEHOLDERS, PROMISING PRACTICES REGARDING COMMUNITY FOUNDATION BOARD MEMBER ENGAGEMENT, AND STRATEGIES TO ENHANCE LOCAL QUALITY OF PLACE.
