THE PRIMARY PURPOSES FOR THE INSTITUTE ARE AS FOLLOWS:1) COLLABORATION - SPARK RESEARCH COLLABORATIONS ACROSS THE SCIENCES AND THE UW-HOSPITAL THAT ACCELERATE BREAKTHROUGH DISCOVERIES TO IMPROVE HUMAN HEALTH.2) INTERACTION - FOSTER INTERACTION BETWEEN PUBLIC AND PRIVATE RESEARCH THAT BREAKS DOWN BARRIERS BETWEEN RESEARCHERS, LABS AND SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINES.
