THE MISSION OF THE LEARNING LAMP IS TO ENGAGE STUDENTS IN THE SUPPORT THEY NEED TO SUCCEED.

THE LEARNING LAMP WORKS TOGETHER WITH SCHOOLS TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT SERVICES FOR STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS, SUCH AS PERSONAL CARE AND INSTRUCTIONAL AIDES, TEACHER AIDES FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION CLASSROOMS, MATH AND READING TUTORS, SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGISTS, SOCIAL WORKERS, NURSES, OCCUPATIONAL AND SPEECH AND LANGUAGE THERAPISTS, ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE (ESL) AND HOMEBOUND INSTRUCTORS. THIS PROGRAM OFFERS CHILDREN WITH CHALLENGES THE ADDITIONAL ATTENTION THEY NEED TO ACHIEVE THEIR TRUE POTENTIAL. IN 2021, THIS PROGRAM SERVED 14,587 STUDENTS.


THE LEARNING LAMP OFFERS HIGH QUALITY, EDUCATIONALLY-FOCUSED CHILD CARE FOR FAMILIES OF ALL INCOME LEVELS. OUR PROGRAMS ARE LICENSED THROUGH THE PA DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES AND DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, ENSURING THEY MEET THE HIGHEST STANDARDS OF HEALTH AND SAFETY. CLASSROOM LESSONS, BEGINNING IN INFANCY, ARE ALIGNED WITH THE PA EARLY LEARNING STANDARDS. RESEARCH-BASED CURRICULUM IS IMPLEMENTED ACROSS ALL AGE GROUPS. FOR PRESCHOOL STUDENTS, CURRICULUM IS FOCUSED ON BUILDING EARLY READING SKILLS. THE LEARNING LAMP IS ACCREDITED THROUGH THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR THE EDUCATION OF YOUNG CHILDREN (NAEYC) AND IS A KEYSTONE STAR 4A PROVIDER, THE HIGHEST LEVEL IN PENNSYLVANIA'S CONTINUOUS QUALITY IMPROVEMENT MODEL FOR CHILD CARE. THE ORGANIZATION OPERATES 21 LICENSED LOCATIONS, INCLUDING CHILD CARE CENTERS, PRESCHOOL CLASSROOMS AND BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS. 1,207 CHILDREN ATTENDED THESE PROGRAMS IN 2021.


THE SUBSTITUTE TEACHER PROGRAM HELPS SCHOOLS ADDRESS A CRITICAL STAFFING NEED BY PROVIDING QUALIFIED, TRAINED SUBSTITUTES TO FILL TEACHER ABSENCES, ENSURING STUDENTS MAKE ACADEMIC PROGRESS EVEN WHEN THEIR CLASSROOM TEACHER IS ABSENT. IN 2021, THIS PROGRAM SERVED 18,326 STUDENTS IN 17 SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND CAREER AND TECHNOLOGY CENTERS IN BEDFORD,CAMBRIA AND SOMERSET COUNTIES.
