MEDICAL DEVELOPMENT-SCMCI PERFORMS RESEARCH IN ALL DEPARTMENTS AND SOME OF THE RESEARCH AREAS FUNDED BY MDI INCLUDE: DIABETES AND STEM CELL THERAPY AS A SUBSTITUTE FOR CHEMOTHERAPY TREATMENT OF SPECIFIC CHILDHOOD CANCERS. MDI ALSO FUNDS MULTIPLE PROGRAMS, SUCH AS ANXIETY DISORDERS CLINIC, CHILD DEVELOPMENT, CRISIS INTERVENTION, ENDOCRINOLOGY/DIABETES, FOREIGN LANGUAGE SOCIAL WORKERS, HEMATOLOGY/ONCOLOGY, NURSE TRAINING, PAIN MANAGEMENT, PEDIATRIC CARDIAC CATHETERIZATION UNIT, AND THE ANXIETY TRAUMA AND STRESS CENTER (PSYCHIATRY).


EDUCATION AND TRAINING-THESE ARE CRITICAL TO MAINTAINING SCMCI'S ABILITY TO DELIVER THE BEST PEDIATRIC CARE.
